Thoughts
Thoughts are subtle.. u can see a man.. but u can not see the mind that governs the man.. and the thoughts are still subtle.. they are the material of which the mind is made up.. apparantly they are ephemeral.. the get destroyed in matter of moments.. but in reality they are eternal.. they are omnipresent.. and manifest in different mind at different places when the state of those minds are conducive to bear those thoughts.. thats why we say... that 'a thought came to my mind' we hardly say that it was born in my mind.. they are eternal... they create, nurture and even destroy lives.. my guru kept telling me.. that human beings die, but thoughts linger.. and hence, life becomes worth while if it is spent in upholding a good thought.

good thought is a relative concept or rather subjective concept.please discuss on 'good thought'?
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a nice question aditi! I think 'good thought' is subjective...very subjective...a thought is just a thought.. people label it as either good or bad.. and every one defines the word 'good' in his own way.. but i feel that one still should define 'good' as per his own understanding and cling on to what he may feel is a 'good thought' and manifest it through his words and deeds...his ideas about 'good' may change in course of time...the thought that he upholds may also get altered consequently...but upholding such a good thought throughout life makes a person feel 'sattvika' (in a state of grace) and i think the end of this journey will be at the stage of absolute absence of thought...or pervasion of the thought of eternity
